Heating and cooling were considered from the earliest stages of the home’s design alongside orientation, glazing and layout.

Maison Soleil earned its name for a reason. Natural light is a huge part of the design, particularly in the main living areas where expansive north-facing glazing welcomes in winter sunshine while helping protect interiors during summer.

Heating and cooling was never an afterthought. It was considered early alongside the floor plan, orientation, glazing, ceiling design and the way the family would use the home. The Fujitsu Ducted System with anywAiR® technology provided a whole-home solution while allowing the architecture and interiors to remain the heroes of the design.

Two General ducted systems provide flexibility and efficient climate control throughout the split-level home.

House 18 is technically a two-storey home but is arranged across three distinct levels, with living spaces, bedrooms and family areas spread throughout the home.

Because each area is used differently and at different times of the day, climate control needed to reflect real family living. Two Fujitsu ducted systems paired with anywAiR® technology allow the family to manage different zones independently and adjust airflow based on which areas are being used.

This zoning approach delivers tailored comfort without treating the entire home as one large space.

Architectural bulkheads were thoughtfully incorporated to conceal services while enhancing the interior design.

Rather than trying to hide the air conditioning services, the design team looked for an opportunity to make the bulkhead a deliberate architectural feature.

Within the expansive kitchen, living and dining zone, the bulkhead helps define the space, adds another layer of architectural interest and maintains the proportions of the room, while discreetly accommodating the ducted system.

It’s a great example of integrating practical requirements into the design from the outset rather than disguising them later.
