About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven HVAC Engineering Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will utilise your technical expertise to review tenders, develop optimized system solutions, and build strong relationships with consultants and contractors.
As a crucial member of our technical team, your day-to-day duties will involve:
Apply engineering knowledge to review tender documentation and develop technically compliant HVAC system solutions.
Interpret consultant specifications and load data against Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA), and AIRAH guidance.
Select and size equipment and controls architecture to optimise technical, energy, and lifecycle-cost outcomes.
Assess technical risks and integration issues with other building services (electrical, BMS, hydraulic).
Liaise with Professional Engineers and Engineering Associates to secure product specification.
Deliver technical training and CPD sessions to engineering consultants and contractors.
Perform equipment selection and load verification using the General Design Simulator (GDS).
To be successful in this position, you will possess a strong blend of technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and:
A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent (Bachelor's Degree, Advanced Diploma, or a Trade Qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineering).
A current, valid Driver's Licence.

A minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience applying engineering knowledge in a sales, application engineering, or mechanical services consulting role within the commercial HVAC industry.
Intermediate knowledge of air conditioning technical systems, including understanding of system design and relevant controls.
A proven ability to accurately interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and complex tender documentation.
Willingness to travel on a regular weekly basis as required by business needs.
