Why don't we reference HP (Horse Power) anymore for air conditioners?

Title : Why don't we reference HP (Horse Power) anymore for air conditioners?

Horse Power (HP) is a power rating for the compressor. This does not take into account the actual cooling and heating performance of the air conditioning system. Kilowatts (kW) are a rating for the cooling/heating output of the entire air conditioner working together and not just the compressor.
